Manchester United-linked star billed as Lionel Messi successor

A Manchester United target has been dubbed Lionel Messi’s successor.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen in recent months.

The 24-year-old has scored 25 and assisted five in 29 outings across all competitions this season, making him one of the most in-form strikes in Europe’s top-five leagues.

Recent reports claimed Manchester United are ready to submit a huge offer to sign the Nigerian international in the summer transfer window.

Wout Weghorst will leave Old Trafford in the summer after a mixed loan, whilst Anthony Martial is not cut out to lead the line for Manchester United, making Osimhen a must-buy.

However, as we edge closer to the summer window, his agent is seemingly trying to angle a move to PSG for Osimhen. He also went as far as to claim that Osimhen is better than Erling Haaland before adding the striker could succeed Lionel Messi at the Parc des Princes when the Argentine leaves for Miami.

Andrea D’Amico told Radio24: “At the moment, Osimhen is the best striker in the world. Yes, even better than Haaland.

Should Manchester United miss out on Osimhen to PSG or someone else, they have also been linked with moves for Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

Ramos would likely be the cheaper of the trio, but he is also the least experienced.
