However, the Red Devils do look to be gearing up for a big-money summer transfer window, with moves for a centre-forward and midfielder on the cards.
Now, Italian outlet Il Mattino are reporting that Manchester United are ‘in pole position’ to sign Victor Osimhen.
But it appears Manchester United will have to break the Premier League record for the Nigerian.
Journalist Bruno Gentili state: “Watch out for Manchester United for Victor, may the assault never come: for me, the Nigerian is worth €200m,” Gentili said
Journalist Paolo de Paola went further as he added: “Osimhen is worth at least €300m! I don’t see any huge differences between him and [Kylian] Mbappe, on the contrary Osimhen places himself more at the disposal of the team and his teammates.”
Napoli are on course to lift the Serie A with Osimhen leading the line.
The 24-year-old has scored 16 and assisted four in 17 league games so far this season.
