Manchester United eye Spanish duo as Premier League transfer deadline nears

Manchester United are not done on the transfer front this summer, it would seem.

The Red Devils began their summer spending by agreeing a deal to sign England midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea on a five-year contract for £55m, plus £5m in add-ons.

They then completed the £47.2m signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan last month.

Their latest bit of business saw them snap up Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for an initial £64m plus £8m in add-ons.

Despite attempts to sign another central midfielder, Manchester United’s business for the summer did look to be over.

However, after Luke Shaw’s recent injury, it appears the Red Devils are in the market for a left-back.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon and Marc Cucurella of Chelsea are among the left-backs Manchester United are considering signing before Friday’s transfer deadline.

No transfer fees are mentioned in the reports, but neither player is a regular for their side currently, suggesting any fee will not be too high.
