Manchester United ‘explore conditions’ of €60m signing

Manchester United are interested in signing a €60m star, according to reports.

Heading into the summer transfer window, it is clear that the Red Devils need fresh legs in goal.

David de Gea is a long-time servant of Manchester United but the Spaniard’s time at United should be coming to an end.

The former Atletico Madrid man is an excellent shot-stopper but he is simply not good enough at playing out from the back.

We saw this hamper Erik ten Hag in the way he is able to play during the 2022/23 season, especially in the early games vs Brentford and Brighton.

De Gea’s contract situation is an ongoing one, but whatever happens, it is clear that Man United need a new shot-stopper in the near future.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on that issue:

“Even though an agreement has almost been in place since March, they are still not signing the contract, and so De Gea is potentially about to become a free agent.

“With Andre Onana, there is no concrete negotiation at the moment, but it’s also true that Manchester United have explored the conditions of the deal on the player side. He and Erik ten Hag have a good relationship, and so United are informed on the deal. Inter’s starting valuation would be around €60m.

“Another goalkeeper on United’s list is Diogo Costa, but he has a €75m release clause at Porto, so these are very expensive options and so we’ll have to see what United decide to do.”
