Manchester City ready to sell key defender this summer

Manchester City are ready to let one of their key defenders leave in the summer...

Aymeric Laporte could be on his way out of the Etihad this summer following a tricky season.

The defender has struggled with injuries and then been unable to break back into the team.

His lack of game time has left him frustrated and his departure now looks likely.

Laporte allowed to leave

Manchester City are ready to let Laporte leave in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Spaniard has become frustrated by his situation at the club.

This season, the 28-year-old has made just seven starts in the league and just two appearances in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s system should have handed him more opportunities with four centre-backs often featured.

However, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake have all been preferred ahead of him.

City will now no longer stand in his way of a potential move in the summer.
