Man United confirm latest summer departure

The ongoing clearout at Old Trafford has continued to gather pace

Premier League giants Manchester United have, on Thursday, announced the latest exit from the club’s first-team squad.

The player to have taken his talents elsewhere ahead of the fast-approaching new campaign? Alex Telles.

Defender Telles, of course, had seen his Old Trafford future called into serious question of late.

This comes with the former Porto standout fresh off something of a hit-and-miss season last time out, leading incoming boss Erik ten Hag to add to his options at left-back courtesy of the signing of the highly-regarded Tyrell Malacia.

In turn, it has not come as a huge surprise, this evening, to hear of Telles being moved on for the coming 12 months.

As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Manchester United defender and Brazil international Alex Telles has agreed to spend the 2022/23 season on loan with Sevilla in Spain.’

Telles’ exit marks the 9th from Ten Hag’s senior setup this summer, amid an ongoing clearout on the part of the powers that be on the red half of Manchester.

The attack-minded full-back follows all of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Dean Henderson, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, and Lee Grant out the door at Old Trafford, as the Red Devils set their sights on an altogether more productive year in 2022/23.
