Spanish giants Barcelona are on the verge of closing a deal for an out-of-favour member of the defensive setup at Manchester City, according to reports.
The player in question? Joao Cancelo.
Cancelo, of course, spent the 2nd half of this past season out on loan away from The Etihad.
After being deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola, the Portuguese international made a surprise move to Germany, to link up with Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.
With the board at the Allianz Arena having since opted against making his arrival permanent, however, the future of the 29-year-old has been thrown firmly back up in the air.

City, for their part, are ready to sanction another departure, in turn opening the door to any and all other suitors.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then one such club now appear to be close to sealing a deal for the versatile full-back.
As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Cancelo making the move to La Liga to join Barcelona is now just a ‘matter of time’
Negotiations between the respective boards at The Etihad and Camp Nou are understood to be ‘advanced’, over the terms of a season-long loan, featuring a purchase option next summer.
Not only that, but Cancelo, for his part, has made clear his desire to take his talents to Catalunya’s capital.
