As 101 covered earlier this week, Saudi side Al-Ittihad are set to make Liverpool an opening €40m offer for midfielder Fabinho as they continue to add stars to their ranks, it has emerged.
Brazilian Fabinho, who has been a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side since arriving from Monaco in 2018, has three years left to run on his contract at Anfield.
However, he was a shadow of his former self last season and with Liverpool in the midst of a rebuild this summer, they may be wise to take the cash and try and replace the South American, as they are unlikely to fetch anywhere close to that sum in a year or two’s time.
Now, an insight into how Liverpool will look to replace Fabinho if he leaves the club has been provided.
Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports confirmed four players who are of interest to Liverpool, but one of them is not Moises Caicedo:
“Liverpool had been assessing longer-term candidates to replace Fabinho. Profile might shift as they’ll require an immediate starter,” she said.
“Among the names mooted have been Sofyan Amrabat, Ryan Gravenberch, Kalvin Phillips and Romeo Lavia… Moises Caicedo not on their list.”
