Liverpool ‘unlikely’ to land 23-year-old transfer target this summer

Liverpool look set to miss out on one of their transfer targets this summer.

The player in question is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka.

A report last month claimed Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing the Eintracht Frankfurt defender at the end of the season.

Football Insider claimed that the two Premier League clubs are keen on signing the player after he rejected the offer of an extension from the German club.

Ndicka is out of contract in the summer, meaning both of the aforementioned sides can sign him to a pre-contract agreement already.

Now though, Dean Jones has claimed that Liverpool are unlikely to land Ndicka this summer, with Napoli being the more likely destination.

Speaking with GiveMeSport, Jones stated that the stopper would be a great fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but claims Napoli are currently in the driver’s seat: “Liverpool have been linked with Evan Ndicka as a potential solution to helping their defensive depth for next season, but it seems Napoli is a more likely destination.

“And now in Italy, there seems to be confidence that Napoli are looking at him and are putting themselves in a good position to make a proposal. So it feels like we can probably scratch him off the list.”
