A long-time member of the midfield setup at Premier League giants Liverpool has, on Saturday, inched ever closer to an Anfield departure.
The player in question? Jordan Henderson.
The subject of England international Henderson’s future has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside for several weeks now.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the 33-year-old had been identified as a prime summer target on the part of Saudi outfit Al Ettifaq.
Lengthy negotiations between the respective clubs, in turn, followed, after Henderson himself committed to the terms of a lucrative three-year contract with former teammate Steven Gerrard’s side.

Deal now depends on Liverpool and Al Ettifaq discussing on the fee, no chance to let him leave for free 🇸🇦

And, as alluded to above, late this evening, a major step towards the transfer’s completion has been confirmed.
A £12 million move to The Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium is therefore viewed as imminent, with the parties now preparing the final paperwork for submission.
Henderson could even link up with his new teammates at their pre-season training camp in Croatia as early as this coming week.
