Liverpool see bid rejected for yet another midfielder

Death, taxes and Liverpool failing to sign a midfield target.

The player in question is Brazilian defensive midfielder, Andre.

Andre is valued at €15m by and is under contract with his current side until 2026.

He has featured 145 times for Fluminense, largely as a holding midfielder, which is a position the Reds need to strengthen in.

Liverpool sold Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia and have since missed out on Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.

And their pursuit of another midfielder is seemingly proving difficult as well.

According to ESPN, Brazilian club Fluminense have rebuffed Liverpool’s approaches for their star midfielder.

Despite Liverpool’s desire to secure Andre before the transfer window closes on September 1, Fluminense are determined to hold onto the Brazilian international.

It is understood that Fluminense’s board communicated to Liverpool that even an increased offer would not prompt them to change their mind as Andre is not up for sale.
