Liverpool plotting raid on top-four rivals for 25-year-old midfielder

Another name has been linked to help solve Liverpool’s midfield woes.

Liverpool are looking to bring in central midfield reinforcements at the end of the season and they have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks.

A report from Spanish outlet Fichajes claims that the Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is on the Reds’ radar.

Bruno has been a major success for Newcastle United after his transfer from Lyon in the winter of 2022.

In his first full season with the Magpies, the Brazilian has scored four and provided five assists from a defensive midfield position and has been crucial to Newcastle almost certainly securing Champions League football for next season.

However, given Newcastle’s new-found wealth and the fact they will likely have Champions League football next term and Liverpool will not, it is hard to see Liverpool being able to convince the North East outfit to part ways with one of their best players this summer.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report, but Newcastle would probably demand a very high sum if they were to even consider parting with Bruno in 2023.
