Liverpool make reported U-turn on transfer target

Liverpool look to have changed their mind on a summer target.

After signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, it was expected that Liverpool would look to add a third midfielder this window who could provide more cover at the back.

The main player linked with this role over the last few months has been Nice star, Khephren Thuram.

The Frenchman is quick, powerful and would work well in a box-to-box role or even sitting at the base of Liverpool’s midfield.

However, transfer journalist Ben Jacobs claimed last week that Jurgen Klopp will not pursue a deal to sign the highly-rated 22-year-old.

Now though, a report from Fichajes claims that Liverpool are not done improving their engine room and Jurgen Klopp has requested the signing of Khephren Thuram from OGC Nice.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will put in a bid for Thuram and if the reported U-turn on the Frenchman is true, but if the Reds secure his signing, they will have completed a remarkable rebuild of their midfield after a dismal 2022/23 season.
