Chelsea transfer target prefers move to Arsenal

A Chelsea target would rather join Arsenal this summer.

The player in question is Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.

Ben Jacobs stated last week that Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with the midfielder:

“Chelsea have registered their interest in Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus and are even close to agreeing personal terms. But no offer has been placed yet,” Jacobs said.

However, a fresh update on the situation suggests that a deal may not be so easy for the Blues to wrap up.

According to reports on Friday, Kudus would prefer to join Arsenal over Chelsea due to the offer of Champions League football.

Elsewhere, when  speaking to Ajax Life, Ajax sporting director Sven Mislintat says there has been contact over signing Kudus but no official bid has been submitted:

In terms of a transfer fee, a sum of around £40m would apparently be enough to convince Ajax to sell.
