Chelsea face competition from two Premier League clubs for forward

Chelsea are set to face competition from two Premier League clubs for PSV winger Noni Madueke.

The 20-year-old joined PSV from Tottenham’s youth ranks back in 2018.

He has since made 80 appearances for the Dutch outfit, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists.

Madueke has played as a right-winger during 2022/23 so far, but he is a very versatile forward who can play all across the front line.

101 previously spoke to former Chelsea, Liverpool and Middlesbrough midfielder Boudewijn Zenden about PSV’s latest rising star.

After hanging up his boots, Zenden has spent the last several years working with PSV in some capacity, where he has been able to get an up-close look at Madueke: “He [Madueke] can be dangerous from the right and the middle. In the near future he should be able to play from the left to.

“He has a strong character and believes in himself. His desire to succeed should be a trigger to keep developing as a player.

Now, as per 90min, Madueke spent some time at Tottenham and Crystal Palace during his youth career and both clubs are interested in competing with Chelsea to prise him away from PSV.

Given Madueke is still young and not a great goalscorer, Chelsea may be better served investing their funds in a more experienced forward who can score plenty of goals, which is something they are really lacking at present.
