Chelsea confirm £45m deadline day signing

Another day, another Chelsea signing confirmed.

Chelsea have already signed 10 players during the 2023 summer transfer window with a spend of over £400m.

But that has not stopped them from completing yet another big deal on Friday.

Chelsea have agreed a fee worth £45 million with Manchester City for England under-21 international Cole Palmer.

Palmer, 21, looked set for a bright future at Chelsea and had already scored key goals in the Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup this season but he has now made the switch to Chelsea.

Now, the Blues have confirmed Cole Palmer’s signing on Friday morning:

On signing for Chelsea, Palmer said: “I’m excited to get started and it feels great to sign,’ said Palmer.

Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: “Cole arrives with experience of winning the Premier League and Champions League and adds further quality and versatility to our attacking unit.

“He has showcased his talent and potential in the most challenging environments and delivered on the international stage for England this summer at the European Under-21 Championships. He is undoubtedly ready for this next step and we are delighted it will be with Chelsea.”
