The powers that be at Burnley are making progress in their ongoing bid to lure an up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at Premier League rivals Aston Villa to Turf Moor, according to reports.
The player in question? Aaron Ramsey.
For those not familiar with his name, Ramsey is the younger brother of fellow Villa star Jacob.
An attacking midfielder by trade, the England youth international spent this past season out on loan, across a pair of stints with Championship clubs Norwich City and Middlesbrough.
And, safe to say, Ramsey went on to make his mark in England’s 2nd tier, notching a head-turning eight goals and four assists across 29 appearances.
Still just 20 years of age, it should, in turn, come as little surprise to hear of interest in Ramsey’s services beginning to mount.
And, as alluded to above, this weekend, one such interested party appear to be advancing in efforts to lure the midfielder away from Villa Park.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Burnley and Aston Villa are in advancing talks over the potential transfer of Aaron Ramsey.’
The two clubs, it is understood, are inching towards an agreement worth a fee in the region of £12 million.
