Brighton’s stance revealed over Arsenal’s £60 million bid for Moisés Caicedo

Arsenal have submitted a £60 million bid for Moisés Caicedo...

Arsenal have this morning submitted a £60 million bid to sign Moisés Caicedo, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder has been subject to plenty of interest, including from also Chelsea and Liverpool.

But the Gunners have made their move to sign the 21-year-old, however, a deal looks set to be very tricky to agree.

Brighton’s stance over selling Caicedo

According to journalist Alex Crook, £60 million would not be enough to sign Moisés Caicedo.

David Ornstein is now backing that up and even reporting that Brighton have rejected Arsenal’s bid.

The Seagulls have no intention of letting the midfielder leave this month.

Chelsea have already had an offer of £55 million turned down earlier in the window.

The Gunners could return with another offer but, at this stage, Brighton are standing firm.

Mikel Arteta is keen to secure cover for his midfield in case one of Granit Xhaka or Thomas Partey pick up an injury.

Losing Partey last season to an injury proved costly for the north Londoners and they want to avoid the same happening again.
