Premier League outfit Aston Villa are closing on a 2nd free agent deal with a view to next season, it has been revealed.
For those who may have missed it, the Claret and Blue have taken their place centre stage in the transfer headlines late on Saturday evening.
This comes after, almost out of the blue, a major addition to Unai Emery’s midfield ranks was confirmed.
The latest player to have taken his talents to Villa Park? Youri Tielemans.
In an official statement across the club’s social media platforms, Villa announced that they have reached an agreement with the Belgian international, who will take his talents to Birmingham upon the expiration of his contract with Leicester City at the end of the month.
Tielemans is understood to have put pen to paper on a four-year deal.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the powers that be at Villa are far from done there.
In fact, as per talkSPORT, a 2nd free agent will imminently commit to terms with Emery’s side, in the form of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
England international Oxlade-Chamberlain will soon too find himself unattached, ahead of his stint with Liverpool coming to an official close.
‘talkSPORT sources understand’, though, that the one-time Arsenal man is ‘on the verge’ of following Tielemans in adding to a rejuvenated midfield setup at Villa Park.
