Arsenal want €15m defender who dreams of Premier League move

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Wolfsburg right-back Ridle Baku.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the German club at the end of the season and Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Arsenal are keen on signing him.

Plettenberg adds that Baku’s dream destination is the Premier League and around €15m should be enough to secure his services.

There is also said to be interest from Spain, but no specific club is mentioned in the report.

Baku joined Wolfsburg in October of 2020 from Mainz for a fee of €10m.

He has since featured over 100 times for the German outfit, scoring 16 and assisting 14 in the process.

Five of those goals and one of those assists have come in 26 Bundesliga outings this season, which is a good return for a right-back.

And given Arsenal only currently have Takehiro Tomiyasu as a natural right-back on their books, signing Baku would make a lot of sense as it would free up Ben White to provide cover in his natural centre-back spot instead of having to rely on Rob Holding to do so, like they currently are with William Saliba out.
