Arsenal monitoring 22-year-old Frenchman

Arsenal’s summer spending may not be over just yet with another star being monitored.

French outfit L’Equipe reported back in June that Liverpool had agreed personal terms with Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram and are preparing a formal bid, with the Ligue 1 side expected to accept an offer of around £35m.

However, no move came to pass and Liverpool have since turned their attention toward Southampton midfielder, Romeo Lavia.

Now, Arsenal have been linked with Thuram. Arsenal are hoping to bring in another midfielder before the summer transfer window closes and they are keeping tabs on Khephren Thuram, a report from the Independent claims.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report but as mentioned above, a fee somewhere in the region of £35m could be enough to secure the deal.

Thuram is a defensive-minded midfielder who works well in a box-to-box role. Should Arsenal indeed sign him, it likely means Thomas Partey would become surplus to requirements, as he would then be competing with Thuram and Declan Rice for a spot in the team.

Thuram scored two and assisted eight for Nice in 2022/23.
