Arsenal join Manchester United in race for Frenchman

Manchester United could face competition from Arsenal this summer when trying to secure a player’s services.

The player in question is AS Monaco defender, Axel Disasi.

Disasi joined Monaco from Stade de Reims in 2020, and has since gone on to feature for the club 121 times, including in several European games.

The centre-back, who is currently under contract until 2025, was also handed the captain’s armband several times in 2021/22 and 2022/23, despite being 25 years of age.

Arsenal could be ready to make a bid for AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi if he becomes available this summer, according to the Sun.

Disasi was part of the France squad that reached the final of the World Cup last year. He spent plenty of time on the bench, with William Saliba who also travelled to Qatar but failed to play many minutes.

The report from the Sun states that Monaco may end up selling Disasi at some point this summer. If they do Manchester United are ‘on alert’, but Chelsea and Arsenal ‘could be ready to nip in with a bid’.
