Arsenal handed major boost ahead of pre-season

Arsenal have been given some good news ahead of their pre-season getting underway.

Arsenal are returning to the United States for their pre-season as they prepare for the 2023/24 season and their long-awaited return to the Champions League.

Arsenal have a friendly against Nurnberg before they kick off their tour of the United States with a game against the MLS All-Stars on July 19. The All-Stars will be coached by current DC United boss Wayne Rooney.

Arsenal will then travel to New York where they will play Manchester United. The Gunners then head to Los Angeles where they will take on Barcelona at SoFi Stadium, the home of owner Stan Kroenke’s LA Rams. Their final warm-up game comes at home against AS Monaco in the Emirates Cup.

Ahead of their first game of the summer, the Evening Standard have reported that William Saliba has returned to training in a pre-season boost to Arsenal.

Saliba returned to London Colney on Tuesday for gym work alongside the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes.

This is a major boost for the Gunners given how big a miss Saliba was at the back end of the 2022/23 campaign. Saliba missed Arsenal’s final 11 games of the league season. In that time, the Gunners failed to win six matches.
