Arsenal facing competition? Leeds United ‘set sights’ on Noa Lang

Another Premier League outfit have been credited with an interest in Noa Lang this week.

Who is Noa Lang?

After enjoying a loan spell with the club during 2020/21, Noa Lang would sign for Belgian outfit Club Brugge permanently in July of 2021.

Brugge signed Lang from Dutch powerhouse Ajax, with whom he had spent many of his younger years, for a fee reported to be around £5.4m.

Despite having been on Ajax’s books for some time, the 22-year-old would only feature 14 times for the club’s senior side, scoring four and assisting one.

With Brugge, however, Lang has become a key figure already. During his 2020/21 loan spell, the winger scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in 38 outings across all competitions, including one goal and one assist in the Champions League.

And now, as a permanent member of the Belgian giants’ squad, the Dutchman has, so far, netted three and assisted four in eight league outings this term.

Lang is a left-winger by trade. However, he is very versatile and can also operate both on the right and as a centre-forward.

Leeds linked with Noa Lang

Lang’s name has already made its way into the news of late, with  a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes last weekend crediting all of Arsenal, Leicester and AC Milan with an interest in the 22-year-old.

However, as mentioned above, yet another Premier League outfit has been credited with an interest in the forward this week.

As per Football Insider, Leeds have set their sights on Lang after holding talks, with it claimed that he was identified as a top target over the summer before the Peacocks eventually moved for Daniel James.

Leeds, though, are said to be continuing to track Lang into the new season. No potential fee is mentioned in the report from FI.
