Arsenal have already signed two midfielders this summer in Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.
However, the Gunners are now being linked with another Premier League star.
According to Football Insider, north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both keen on Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, with the Gunners’ interest stretching back to last summer.
And in a boost to both clubs, Unai Emery’s pursuit of Leeds United star Tyler Adams could clear a path for Douglas Luiz to leave Aston Villa as it is believed it would be the Brazilian to make way if a deal for Adams could be completed by Villa before next month’s deadline.
Villa may have a tough time getting a deal for Adams done, however, as Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the US star.
Chelsea do not have any form of European football this season, whilst Villa will be competing in the Europa Conference League.
No potential transfer fee for Luiz is mentioned in the report but he is valued at £40m by transfermarket.com.
