Tottenham’s stance on signing unvaccinated players revealed

Spurs make decision on whether to sign unvaccinated players.

Tottenham Hotspur have made a flying start to the transfer so far with six players through the door.

Spurs have managed to sign Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence.

However, as revealed by the Athletic, the club have made a key decision on whether or not to sign unvaccinated players.

Spurs’ decision on signing unvaccinated players

Charlie Eccleshare has reported that Spurs have made the decision NOT to sign players who are unvaccinated.

Chelsea are another named club who are taking into consideration their targets’ vaccination status.

Covid is starting to become an issue for some clubs again with players unable to go on pre-season trips due to their vaccination status.

Manchester City are without John Stones, Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan for their US pre-season tour.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are without N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

In terms of travelling for European competitions, clubs are unlikely to face too many complications.

Pro athletes were given sporting exemption to travel in Europe unvaccinated, but that is now no longer necessary under the current guidelines.

France and Spain are the only two countries that require proof of being vaccinated.

New Spurs numbers revealed

Ivan Perisic will take the number 14 shirt replacing Joe Rodon who switches to number 22.

The Croatian also wore the 14 shirt for Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Clement Lenglet makes the strange call of going for number 34.

Meanwhile, the club’s latest arrival Djed Spence has been allocated the number 24.
