Romero signed for Tottenham last summer, leaving Atalanta after being named the Serie A’s MVP in 2020/21.
The Argentine has since impressed for Spurs, especially under Antonio Conte who has used Romero as a right-sided centre-back in a three.
Now, Conte has told Romero how he can become a winner following a recent pre-season match.
When asked about Romero’s fiery side coming to the fore again in a summer friendly, having clashed with opponents in other games in South Korea while protecting teammates, Conte explained what he wants from the Argentine and all of his Spurs squad:
“I think that in every situation, it’s important to have a hot heart and a cold mind. This is the most important thing if you want to be a winner,” said the Italian.
“You have to be ready to fight in the right way, but you also have to pay great attention. At the same time, I like when my team go to help another player to create a special unity.
Tottenham have not won a major trophy since all the way back in 20008, but if they are to win anything anytime soon, Antonio Conte is probably the man to help them do it.
The Italian has become something of a serial winner, with his most recent triumph seeing Inter Milan end Juventus’ reign of dominance over the Serie A back in 2020/21.
