Tottenham team news & predicted line-up vs West Ham United

Spurs remain hit and miss in terms of recent results in the Premier League and will need to pounce on a Hammers outfit that has secured just one win in their last six Premier League fixtures if they are to keep pressure on Newcastle United in fourth

A frustrating night in Milan highlights the growing concerns surrounding the Antonio Conte-Fabio Paratici era at Tottenham after Spurs fell in a narrow 1-0 defeat to holding Serie A champions AC Milan. Though the Premier League side still has a potential avenue of advancement in Europe, attentions now turn toward the weekend clash with relegation-threatened West Ham United as David Moyes’ Hammers sit just two points clear of the bottom three.

There are questions surrounding how Spurs will be able to get on without Rodrigo Bentancur, and growing concerns at the inability of both Son Heung-min and Richarlison to find form in the final third, but for a side desperate to hit a run of results to solidify their place in the race for top four, the weekend clash against a struggling London rival is the perfect storyline for the club to get back on their bike.

Predicted Tottenham XI

Tottenham Team News

  • Out: Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon
  • Doubt: N/A

Antonio Conte’s men will be looking to welcome back a pair of key senior figures into the matchday XI after both Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg were sorely missed during the 1-0 loss against holding Serie A champions AC Milan as the round of 16 in the Champions League kicked-off this week.

Their additions will no doubt boost the club’s chances of finding a result in front of expectant home support, but the reality that Tottenham is due to be without Uruguayan star Rodrigo Bentancur for the remainder of the season is a hammer blow to Spurs’ chance of securing Champions League football next season. Star keeper Hugo Lloris is also missing, with Fraser Forster standing in for the former World Cup winner for the foreseeable future.

Yves Bissouma and Ryan Sessegnon are also unavailable here, and though neither was expected to feature in the matchday XI, Spurs’ lack of depth in certain areas remains a problem at the time of writing.
