Southampton have set their sights on the signature of a defensive ranks of Premier League rivals Everton, according to reports.
The Toffees star in the sights of the transfer team at St. Mary’s? Michael Keane.
As those of an Everton persuasion will be aware, stopper Keane has endured something of a nightmare campaign to date.
Owing to a combination of injuries and simple competition for places, the 29-year-old has notched just a solitary league appearance, for a grand total of 22 minutes of time spent on the pitch.

In turn, it shouldn’t come as a major surprise to hear of Keane, on Thursday, being tipped for an imminent exit from Goodison Park.
This comes amid interest in his signature from the aforementioned Southampton.
Any such proposal, it is understood, would be based around the formula of a loan, likely featuring an option to buy in the summer.
Everton, for their part, though, have made clear that only permanent bids for their out-of-favour defender will be considered.
