Premier League outfit Southampton have, late on Friday, unveiled the club’s first signing of the winter transfer window.
The player to have taken his talents to St. Mary’s with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign? Mislav Orsic.
The name of attacker Orsic, of course, had taken its place front and centre in the media headlines across the last 48 hours.
This came amid widespread speculation that the Croatian international – fresh off a goal and two assists at the World Cup – was inching towards a Saints switch.

In turn, it has come as little surprise, as alluded to above, to hear of Orsic officially putting pen to paper on terms in Hampshire.
As per a statement across the club’s social media platforms:
‘The club is delighted to confirm the arrival of the sought-after attacking midfielder on a two-and-a-half-year contract, as he becomes the first signing of the January transfer window.’
Orsic’s signing, it is understood, has set Southampton back a sum in the region of £6 million.
