Sevilla 0-4 Manchester City: Match report, player ratings, fan reaction & more

Manchester City faced off with Sevilla on Tuesday evening in a Champions League clash.

Manchester City headed into the game as clear favourites, with the Sky Blues having reached the semi-finals and final of the Champions League in the last two seasons.

The Citizens now also have Champions League specialist Erling Haaland leading the line this term.

And, when all was said and done at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadiumum, it was not too surprising to see City come away with all three points.

Manchester City dominated from the get-go and took the lead 19 minutes in via Erling Haaland.

Manchester City’s onslaught continued in the second half and Kevin De Bruyne really should have made it 2-0 47 minutes in but Bona saved well.

Phil Foden added City’s second shortly before the hour with some great composure. Foden then turned provider to add Haaland’s second of the night and kill the tie off.

Sevilla player ratings

Bono (5) – Produced a good save when one on one with De Bruyne 47 minutes in.

Tanguy Nianzou (4) – Like his teammates, he struggled to mark Haaland.

Marcos Acuna (4) – Had a tough night vs Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

Nemanja Gudelj (5) – Passing was decent but he had a hard time picking up Man City’s midfielders.

Thomas Delaney (4.5) – Could have tracked De Bruyne better for the first goal.

Ivan Rakitic (4) – Offered nothing going forward before being subbed at half-time.

Papu Gomez (4) – Did not manage a shot on goal.

Joan Jordan (3) – Should have done a better job tackling Foden before his goal.

Kasper Dolberg (3.5) – Saw very little of the ball.
