Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane will play no part in the upcoming World Cup, it has been confirmed.
Concerns surrounding the availability of attacker Mane for the Qatar showpiece, of course, first began to spread earlier this month.
This came upon word coming to the fore that the former Liverpool standout was in line for a spell on the sidelines, owing to an injury suffered whilst lining out at club level.
Senegal, for their part, had since remained hopeful of the nation’s star man playing at least some role over the weeks ahead, albeit with FSF board member Abdoulaye Sow having recently admitted that:
“We will have to rely on playing the first games without Sadio and win without Sadio.”
“No-one would have wanted it, but that’s what’s happened to us.”

As per an official statement released a short time ago, Mane, in fact, will play no part for his country at the upcoming World Cup.
This comes after a 2nd MRI unveiled fresh concern, with the 30-year-old, in turn, set to go under the knife over the coming days.
