Revealed: What Antony told Casemiro to console Man United teammate after costly red card

An insight into the reaction of Manchester United star Antony to the red card shown to teammate Casemiro against Southampton has been provided late on Sunday.

The Red Devils, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

Fresh off a morale-boosting win over Real Betis in midweek, Erik ten Hag’s troops turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, eyeing a 2nd win on the spin in a meeting with relegation-battling Southampton.

When all was said and done at Old Trafford, however, United were brought firmly back down to earth, by way of a goalless stalemate.

Not only that, but the hosts’ prospects for the weeks ahead were dealt something of a blow, too.

This came with ten minutes remaining in the first-half, when Casemiro was sent for an early bath.

With Sunday’s his 2nd dismissal of the campaign, Casemiro, in turn, is in line for a hefty four-game ban.

Evidently aware that his exit from the action was likely to cost his side dear against Southampton, it therefore came as little surprise to see Manchester United’s midfield enforcer looking utterly forlorn before making his way off the pitch.

Several other members of Erik ten Hag’s squad, in turn, were quick to console their teammate, one of whom came in the form of compatriot Antony.

The summer arrival at Old Trafford was spotted on the matchday cameras pointing towards Casemiro’s chest, looking defiant as he delivered a message to the former Real Madrid man.

And now, as alluded to above, an insight into the exact words exchanged between the pair has been provided.

As per a whole host of sources online, Antony assured his close friend:

“I will win this game for you. I will.”
