Revealed: The Liverpool changes expected vs Newcastle United

Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a number of changes to Liverpool’s line-up against Newcastle United on Boxing Day, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds claimed a crucial three points away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday to remain top of the league at Christmas.

With just four days between both fixtures, the German has been tipped to make four changes for Wednesday’s clash.

James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Andrew Robertson are the players expected to be given a rest at Anfield.

Keita came off injured against Wolves, whilst Milner, Henderson and Robertson will be left out purely based on rotation purposes.

Excepted to replace the quartet is Nathaniel Clyne, Alberto Moreno, Georginio Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Alisson Becker; Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Virgil van Dijk, Alberto Moreno; Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum; Xherdan Shaqiri, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino; Mohamed Salah.

Premier League review: Wolves 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool claimed a crucial three points at Wolves to sit top of the Premier League at Christmas.

Mohamed Salah’s first-half strike handed the Reds the lead as he added his 11th league goal of the season.

Virgil van Dijk doubled Liverpool’s lead with the Dutch defender scoring his first league goal for the club.

The win leaves them four points clear at the top after Manchester City suffered a shock defeat to Crystal Palace.
