Ralph Hasenhuttl gives update on Nathan Redmond ahead of Man United

Southampton vs Man United

Southampton’s final game before the international break sees them host Manchester United in Saturday’s early kick-off.

The Saints have not had the best start to the season. After three PL games, Southampton sit 18th in the league, having won one and lost two.

As for Manchester United, they should be keen to bounce back from their defeat at Old Trafford vs Crystal Palace last weekend.

United are currently 5th in the PL, after winning one, drawing one and losing one.

Redmond update

Ahead of the game with Man United, Ralph Hasenhuttl has provided an injury update on three of his players.

Southampton would pick up a 1-0 vs Fulham in the League Cup earlier this week.

However, both Nathan Redmond and Michael Obafemi were taken off during said victory with injury problems.

When speaking about Redmond, Hassenhutl stated that it looks as though he could be out for two or three weeks:

“In the moment, it looks like Nathan is going to be out for two or three weeks.

“It could be longer but with good rehab we are hopeful.

“He will have to wear a boot over the next 10 days. It can be quicker but I think it could be worse.” As quoted by Southampton’s official website.

Hassenhutl also spoke about Moussa Djenepo and Michael Obafemi:

“We weren’t happy about having injuries from the last game. Also Moussa is injured, he has a problem with his muscle. He’s out for the weekend.

“Michael Obafemi has some cramp and for the weekend, it’s probably too much for him after playing against Fulham. We have three players that cannot play on the weekend.”
