France beat Senegal, Iraq and Norway during the group stage before breezing past Sweden in the last 32 and seeing off Paraguay in the round of 16 and Morocco in the quarter-finals.
They won the title in 1998 and 2018, winning six and drawing one of their seven matches on each occasion. This time, though, they were beaten by Spain in the final four.
