PSG keen on moves for two Arsenal defenders this summer

The French side are potentially set to test the waters this summer

Paris Saint Germain are keen on Arsenal defensive duo William Saliba and Gabriel as they look to overhaul their backline this summer, it has emerged.

The French champions are undergoing yet another summer of change, and have already agreed a deal to bring defender Milan Skriniar to the Parc des Princes on a free transfer when his contract with Inter Milan expires.

Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe remain favoured options in Paris, but the departure of Sergio Ramos has reinforced the need for more defensive additions this summer, and Arsenal’s successful backline has not gone unnoticed.

According to Goal.com, Luis Campos is keen to add Gabriel to the French giants, with PSG having also tried to sign the Brazilian last summer, while they also have held a longstanding interest in William Saliba from his successful stints in Ligue 1.

However, Goal add that ‘the Brazilian is unlikely to move away from the Premier League side’ having penned a new contract this season to keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2027 and now valued at over 50m by transfer site transfermarkt.

One of the first names on the teamsheet, Gabriel started every game of their campaign, helping them finish second to Manchester City and missing just nine minutes all season, while he also popped up with three goals too.

Signed for £27m in 2019, the 22-year-old is thought to be in contract talks with the club but they are not close to reaching an agreement, meaning that his head could yet be turned by an offer elsewhere, though his departure would likely not be until next summer if at all.
