Official: Kieran Trippier commits future to Newcastle

Premier League outfit Newcastle United have, late on Friday, confirmed a major development in the future of star defender Kieran Trippier.

And the news is no doubt set to go down a treat for all of a Magpies persuasion.

Trippier, of course, has enjoyed nothing short of a scintillating campaign to date.

Establishing himself as both a leader at the back and creator in chief in the final third, the former Tottenham Hotspur star is now regarded by many as being the single most important member of Eddie Howe’s squad.

In turn, it will come as a boost to Newcastle’s fans, players and staff alike to hear that, this evening, Trippier has put pen to paper on fresh terms on Tyneside.

As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Newcastle United are delighted to announce Kieran Trippier has signed a contract extension, keeping the defender at the club until the summer of 2025.’

Speaking on the back of his contract extension being made official, Trippier reiterated his intention to ‘help the club achieve great things’:

‘I’m absolutely delighted that I’ve extended my contract here. I’ve got a lot of thank yous to make to the manager, owners, fans and my teammates.

‘When I first arrived here, they made me feel so welcome and I want to help the club achieve great things. It’s a positive moment for us players in the club and there’s no place I’d rather be.’
