Nottingham Forest confirm latest striker signing

Premier League outfit outfit Nottingham Forest have, on Thursday, confirmed the latest addition to the club’s first-team squad.

The player to have taken his talents to the City Ground with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign? Andre Ayew.

The last week, of course, had seen the name of veteran hitman Ayew take its place front and centre in the media headlines in Nottingham.

This came after the former Swansea City standout came to an agreement to terminate his contract with Qatari outfit Al Sadd, on the back of an 18-month stint with the club.

Ayew, in turn, was swiftly tipped for a return to Europe, viewed as far from over the hill at 33, and fresh off playing an important role for Ghana at the World Cup.

Everton are one such outfit understood to have been keen on the frontman, with former employers Marseille also named as keen.

As alluded to above, though, late on Thursday, Ayew has opted to take his talents elsewhere.

As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms a short time ago, the experienced Ghanaian has put pen to paper on terms with Nottingham Forest, for the remainder of the term:

‘Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Ghana captain André Ayew.

‘The forward joins on a free transfer following his recent departure from Al Sadd and has signed a deal until the end of the season.’
