Newcastle supporters make use of chant to back Anthony Gordon amid Everton fan abuse

The travelling Newcastle United contingent in attendance at the club’s meeting with Everton have moved to defend under-fire winger Anthony Gordon.

For those not aware, Gordon’s name has taken its place front and centre in the chatter at Goodison Park late this evening.

This comes with the 22-year-old back on the blue half of Merseyside for the first time since his January move to Newcastle.

Ahead of proceedings getting underway, it therefore came as little surprise when the home supporters inside Goodison made use of the opportunity to take firm aim at the club’s one-time prodigy.

As Gordon set about warming up for the evening’s action, he was greeted by a chorus of jeers and boos:

Such abuse on the part of the Everton faithful, though, was soon drowned out by their Newcastle counterparts.

This came as the travelling supporters moved to back their under-fire attacker, in the process poking fun at their opponents for the night, courtesy of the following humourous chant:

“Anthony Gordon, he left coz you’re s**t”
