Millwall vs Swansea City match preview

Millwall and Swansea City are set to lock horns as part of the upcoming round of Championship fixtures on Saturday, September 30th.

Looking first at the recent efforts of the former, Millwall will head into proceedings in the midst of a stretch of solid-if-unspectacular form.

The Lions, across their last six in the league, have been condemned to defeat just once, a 3-0 home drubbing at the hands of Leeds United.

Since, they have bounce back, by way of four points from an available six.

Most recently, after getting the better of Rotherham United, Gary Rowett’s troops made the trip to The Hawthorns, for a meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

When all was said and done, though, the two sides could not be separated, en route to a goalless stalemate.

Hopeful of putting a stop to as much, though, will be Swansea City.

Unlike their hosts-in-waiting, Swansea endured nothing short of a nightmare opening to the season, on their way to just two points from an available 18.

Over the course of the last couple of weeks, however, the Welsh giants have done a solid job in steadying the ship.

First, after making the trip to Loftus Road, Michael Duff and co. were only denied all three points by way of a Queens Park Rangers equaliser, deep into injury-time.

Last time out, though, the Swans did at long least seal a first victory of the campaign.

This came in style, too, as all of Jamal Lowe, Jerry Yates, and Arsenal loanee Charlie Patino were on target en route to a 3-0 downing of Championship basement dwellers Sheffield Wednesday.

So, all of this considered, how do we at 101 envision Saturday’s action unfolding at The Den?

Though we would not be at all surprised to see Swansea battle their way to a hard-fought point, we are backing hosts Millwall to ultimately emerge on the right side of the result.
