Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has, on Sunday evening, spoken out over the futures of a trio of the club's transfer-linked stars.

The players in question? Eddie Nketiah, Alexandre Lacazette and Mohamed Elneny.

Striker pair Nketiah and Lacazette, along with deep-lying midfielder Elneny, have of course long been primed to depart north London, ahead of the expiration of their respective Arsenal contracts next month.

Speaking on the back of his side's final outing of the campaign, which saw them make short work of Everton en route to a 5-1 triumph, Mikel Arteta was therefore inevitably asked for a definitive update on all three members of his squad.

The Gunners boss, though, was keen to keep his cards close to his chest, in confirming that it is 'very difficult to communicate' the decisions which have been made:

Swiftly following on the back of Arteta's comments, however, has come confirmation that at least one of the aforementioned trio of Arsenal stars is in line to stay put.

The player in question? Mohamed Elneny.

As per a host of sources with close connections to ongoings at the Emirates, Egyptian international Elneny has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal in north London.

The midfielder's terms are also understood to possess an option for a further extension through 2024.
