Maurizio Sarri calls out ‘stupid’ anti-Semitic Chelsea fans after Watford

Anti-Semitic Chelsea fans vs Watford

Chelsea’s fans once again ruined the reputation of their club against Watford on Boxing Day.

Early on the match at Vicarage Road, a small group of supporters in Chelsea’s away section began singing anti-Semitic chants.

The Times have the following description of what the Chelsea fans sung:

At Vicarage Road last night a small number of Chelsea fans interjected the Y-word into their song about Willian hating Tottenham Hotspur in each half.

Chelsea did not deny the episode and referred to the strong condemnation from Bruce Buck, the chairman, of a “mindless” minority and his vow not to rest until the discrimination was eliminated from the club.

Chelsea’s anti-Semitic & racist incidents keep growing

It’s been a disastrous few weeks for Chelsea.

Not only have the Blues suffered a spate of defeats, but their fans keep dragging down their club.

Man City’s Raheem Sterling was racially abused at Stamford Bridge.

Then, in the Europa League match away at Vidi in Hungary, some fans associated with Chelsea were pictured with a flag packed with Nazi symbolism, while supporters sung anti-Semitic songs during the game.

Maurizio Sarri calls out ‘stupid’ Chelsea fans

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has now gone on the attack against the fans who continue to be racist and anti-Semitic.

After the Watford game, Sarri had no problem calling those supporters “stupid”. The Italian said:

For 99 per cent of cases our fans are wonderful. In every community there are some stupid [ones] and altogether we have to fight against the stupid people but not against Chelsea fans.
