Matt Turner makes Aaron Ramsdale claim after Arsenal exit

The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper has been discussing a former teammate.

Matt Turner did not make a single Premier League appearance last season for Arsenal.

As a result, the American opted to leave the Gunners over the summer for Nottingham Forest.

Turner faced off with his old side on the opening weekend and lost 2-1.

Following the game, Turner was asked about David Raya moving to Arsenal and backed Ramsdale to see off the competition, much like the Englishman did when he was at the club:

“I think it’s a good signing, a goalkeeper with a lot of experience and I’m sure it will make the competition really good at training every single day,” Turner said.

“[Ramsdale] became a really solid goalkeeper last year. It felt like every time I played well in the Europa League or FA Cup he followed that up with two or three really good performances in the league.
