Martin Odegaard speaks out on Kevin De Bruyne comparisons

Martin Odegaard has been compared to Kevin De Bruyne this season.

Arsenal are in the midst of one of their best-ever Premier League campaigns.

The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League with a three point lead over Manchester City as well as a game in hand.

Of course, Manchester City could go top of the Premier League on Wednesday night if they beat Arsenal, but the Gunners would still have a game extra to play.

One of the key figures in this new-look Arsenal side is Martin Odegaard. The Norweigan has continued to improve during his time in north London and is now Arsenal captain.

Odegaard has scored eight and assisted six in 20 Premier League outings this term and his displays have earned him comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne – the benchmark for any modern playmaker.

Now, in an interview with the Evening Standard, Odegaard has responded to the Kevin De Bruyne comparisons:

Odegaard also discussed Bukayo Saka and how he is developing as a leader: “He can be loud when he needs to be,” Odegaard said. “He says what he wants and he’s taking more and more responsibility. People have this [impression] where they see a player and think he’s like this [all the time] but inside the dressing room people are different.”
