This came in the form of confirmation that Spanish international Cucurella had put pen to paper on terms with the club, after the powers that be at Stamford Bridge pushed hard to overtake Manchester City in the race for his signature this week.
The versatile defender has committed to terms in the English capital through the summer of 2028, setting Chelsea back a hefty £55 million up front, followed by a further £7 million in potential bonuses.
And now, as alluded to above, Cucurella himself has issued his first official online response to linking up with his new club.
Taking to his official Twitter account a short time ago, the 24-year-old sent a personal message to the Chelsea supporter base.
