Marc Cucurella & Kante doubts for Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been speaking to the media ahead of Crystal Palace.

With the international break over, focus is once again switching to the Premier League.

Chelsea missed their last two gameweeks due to the Queen’s funeral, meaning they have played just six league matches in 2022/23.

Their next outing sees them face off with Crystal Palace on Saturday the 1st of October at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea head into the game sat 7th in the Premier League, two points off the top-four and eight points off top spot – though Arsenal have played one more game than the Blues.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have had a rough start to the campaign. The Eagles were expected to kick on after a promising 2021/22 season with a young squad under Patrick Vieira.

However, Palace head into the weekend sat 16th in the Premier League with just one win to their name.

Now ahead of the match, Graham Potter has been speaking to the press on Friday afternoon.

During the presser, Potter discussed a number of topics, including his poor record vs Crystal Palace, with Potter currently winless in six against the Eagles:

“I’ve missed those stats. The margins are small, that’s history and looking forward to the game to change that.”

Potter also cast doubt over N’Golo Kante and Marc Cucurella’s availability for Palace: “They’re fine in terms of coming through the rehab stages and NG has been on the grass. Maybe next week for him. Bit of illness for Marc Cucurella.”
