Manchester United’s pre-season plans slammed

Manchester United are set for a busy pre-season schedule

Manchester United begin their pre-season when they face off with Leeds in Norway on Wednesday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag’s side then take on Lyon in Edinburgh next Wednesday before jetting off for a four-stop tour of the United States.

They take on Arsenal in New York, Wrexham in San Diego, Real Madrid in Houston and Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas.

This hectic schedule has since been criticised by former player Dean Saunders, who said:

“I’ve done 38 pre-seasons and when I see a bad one, I can see a bad one. And it’s not just Man United, all of them,” he told talkSPORT.

“Don’t complain to me, or don’t come on the TV, at Christmas and start complaining about fixtures and player welfare. This pre-season Man United have got – Leeds in Oslo, Madrid in Houston, Lyon in Edinburgh, Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas, Arsenal in New York, Lens at Old Trafford, Wrexham in San Diego and Bilbao in Dublin.
