Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford wins Premier League award

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been named the September Premier League Player of the Month.

The 24-year-old topped a six-man shortlist that also included Philip Billing, Kevin De Bruyne, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Alex Iwobi and Jacob Ramsey.

Due to the international break, it was a short month of Premier League action, with Rashford playing just two games.

He picked up an assist as Manchester United beat Leicester City 1-0. He then scored two and assisted one during United’s 3-1 drubbing of Arsenal.

After being named the September POTM, Rashford has this to say:

“It’s a good feeling,” Rashford said. “We didn’t start the season so strongly so to get four wins on the bounce is really good.

“It’s still fairly new with the manager and we’ve got much better at doing the things he wants us to. But there are still a lot of steps to take and we’re all looking forward to doing that together.”
