Man United team news: Romelu Lukaku to get recall vs Bournemouth

Staring XI return for Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has reportedly won back his starting eleven spot at Manchester United ahead of their game with Bournemouth this weekend.

It’s not been a great season so far for the Belgian striker.

Despite a decent start to the season, his form has tailed off and he is now without a goal in 9 games for Manchester United.

That has lead to some pretty hefty criticism of the player on social media over the past few weeks.

In what was a shock decision, Jose Mourinho decided to drop the forward for the clash against his former side Everton.

Marcus Rashford was preferred to Lukaku up front but didn’t have that great of a game himself.

The Belgian was introduced in the second half but did not have much of an impact on the game either.

Now, he looks to have won his place in the starting eleven back ahead of the clash with Bournemouth.

Does Lukaku deserve a recall?

That is because the Daily Mirror are reporting today that Lukaku is set to return to the starting eleven.

They claim that:

“Jose Mourinho is understood to be ready to recall Lukaku for the lunchtime clash with the high-flying Cherries, who are currently sixth in the Premier League – three points ahead of United.”

They go on to explain that Lukaku was given a much-needed rest for the match against Everton rather than dropped.

Though, they claim Lukaku is ‘desperate to reclaim his starting berth’ and likely will do at the expense of Rashford.
